This magnifiscent pair of huge wood doors originally served as a large gate in Southern Hungary, likely Szeged. Note the dramatic carved arched crown and corinthian columns that accent the massive panelled and carved doors; with all these elements combined this pair absolutely commands attention. This rare set of extremely large doors is part of a remarkable collection currently in our inventory; please refer to other door listings while they remain available.

In 19th century Hungary, the original home owner of these doors had a farm out in the country and a house in the village. When they brought agricultural goods to town, this gate was wide enough for a hay wagon to enter while the door on the right (with handle) opened for individuals. Old vintage doors make and impressive and unique addition to modern homes, but almost always need to be adapted by a professional contractor/installer and are therefore sold in as is, unaltered condition as we found them in Europe. Missing/broken items(see top arched molding), cracks, separation, uneven edges, minor losses are age-related. Old repairs visible.
