Antique Original Oil on Canvas Painting of the Apostle Thomas, Unsigned
This original oil on canvas painting has powerful presence of the Apostle Thomas. It is after the original by Nicolaes Maes from 1656. This unsigned canvas has minimal retouches, extensive craquelure and will likely benefit from cleaning. The gold gilt frame shows age-related wear/distress with paint loss/scrapes along the sides. We leave all decisions to clean or stretch the canvas up to the buyer. This painting is sold in as-is condition as we found it in Europe.
