What stories would this trunk tell if only it could speak? The delightful heart with monogram of BAD indicate a couple began their married life in 1836, and would have filled this trunk with precious belongings along with hopes and dreams. The paint is all original and a great display of the traditional folk art of the period including the faux background of earthen red which compliments the flowers so well. There is no key; the interior has a small hinged compartment to the upper left in which small personal items would have been stored. This trunk is part of our “un-restored” collection and is being sold in "as is, used" original condition; how we found it in Europe. You are welcome to contact us directly if you would like to learn more about this or other items, we will be happy to assist you further.
