This large bleached oak bookcase is statuesque in size and detail. At 9.5' tall, the lead panes of the large glass doors add to its strong visual presence.
Originally the "sawtooth" shelving allowed the shelf height to be adjusted. At a later point four middle arms/support brackets were added to increase stability allowing the shelves to accommodate more weight.
This display cabinet is built in 2 sections, making it easier to install the heavy oak lower cabinet with two doors and the upper display cabinet with glass doors.
Age related cracks and signs of wear/distress are expected in an antique that has been used for generations such as this. Old repairs seen in rear photos.
Bottom doors have brass pulls; left upper door is secured shut by an interior lower sliding lock. A key is used to open the lock of the upper doors which operates both vertical (side to side in the door) and a long vertical lock (seen in photo with doors open). Buyer may choose to simply use the key as a pull rather than locking the right door.
This antique oak bookcase is restored, strong and stable, ready to be used and enjoyed.
Any scratches, cracks, dings, or age related separation (panels, corners, etc.) are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this impressive cabinet.
Please refer to professional photos for clear understanding of color, condition and details; photo lighting, individual monitor display and home lighting may all impact how item is viewed.
