Black Painted Side Table With Turned Legs, Sweden circa 1840

This delightful side table is a wonderful example of Swedish country craftsmanship of the early 1800's. The turned legs with X stretcher base resting on bun feet are traditional style elements while a single drawer with key (lock functions) adds function as well.
The original black painted finish shows wear and distress through generations of use.  Note how the paint has been partially rubbed away, revealing the natural wood below which adds depth and character as well.
This table has been restored, so it is strong and stable, ready to be used and enjoyed. Any scratches, cracks, dings, or age related separation are commensurate with age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this lovely accent table.
Floor to skirt height: 22.25"
