This delightful armoire was considered exceptional in its day, with the elaborate hand-painted details requiring a professional painter to invest a tremendous amount of time to complete. While it has grown worn and faded over time, it is precisely the aged affect that makes this primitive armoire so special today. The beautiful floral panels are accented by the band of flowers circling the top, flowing down the lower half columns and the along base as well. Hand carved elements add dimension, along with the black accent upper columns as well. It currently has a hanging rod in the left half of the interior. This armoire is being sold "as is" how we found and bought it in Europe. The wear, nicks and scratches are consistent with the age of the piece but do not detract from its functionality. The upper right panel has some type of distress that created a white washed look only to that section.
