This charming hand-painted Swedish corner cupboard still maintains its original paint, with deep dark green panels and a traditional background in earth-toned colors with reddish base. The traditional folk art style of the period was to paint a faux wood-grain finish just as you see in this corner cabinet. Also traditional was the simple, straight carved lines seen in both the panels and canted sides. Corner cupboards were used throughout Europe in the 1800's as added storage space in tight quarters. This primitive pine corner cabinet has a narrow width (35.5" across the front width) and only 17.75" from back corner along side to the front cornice. This is being sold in original, as is condition as there have been no alterations nor new finish added to this wonderful Swedish country cabinet.
