This old table started life as a work table, likely on a farm in the Swedish countryside. Notice how deeply aged the pine is, revealed in the rich, darker patina of the wood. Throughout its long and useful life, oil spilled leaving the darker stains while scratches and scrapes are reminders of the daily work done upon it. See in photos 5 & 6, the original wood pegs used instead of nails at the joints while photo #7 shows old repairs done to the feet using metal nails. The trestle base with small "feet" added to the center for stability add a unique visual touch to the work table, which may also serve as a large console table today. This Swedish farm table has not been restored or finished and remains in original condition as found in Europe.
