Having been born in Sweden, Mora clocks are one of my favorite pieces to find as an antique dealer. I personally believe no house interior is complete without a grandfather clock, it adds a personal and timeless touch to every home.
I am constantly searching for good quality original oil paintings from Europe to ship here to Colorado. This falcon painting is executed beautifully, it is one of my favorites in the showroom right now.
Once in awhile, there is a special piece that just “wows me,” but is difficult to put into words why. This table is a great example of that. . .incredible baroque lines, aged patina of the worn top and the fabulous painted base. It is the combination of elements that make this table a great find.
Whimsy and delight of an age gone by exude from this wonderful old carved Tivoli horse from Copenhagen. It brings joy every time I see it!
As an antique wholesaler in Europe for many years, my passion was the Biedermeier period pieces. The glowing yellow birch accented with black is the ultimate in timeless class and style. This chest of drawers and chair are a great examples of the elegance that a Biedermeier piece can add to your home.
Every summer we visit Henrik’s home on the island of Fyn in Denmark, we drive down old cobblestone roads and I see these “Sun clocks” or armillaries in the gardens of old white farmhouses with thatched roofs. We love sitting in our own Colorado garden spilling over with flowers accented with one on a pedestal, while another rests indoors as a unique accent piece. We received several sun clocks on our last European shipment that sit on their original pedestal covered in old moss. Come find one for your garden before they are all gone!
