Large, lovely original oil on canvas painting of Julie Glad, née Kanneworff (1821–1886), married to captain Carl Frederik Glad (1803–1862). This is possibly a wedding portrait, with the Captain's wife wearing white bridal satin and gloves. Notice the delicate details of her long necklace, brooch, hair and lace trimed sleeves. At over 3.5' tall, the gold gilt frame with carved flourish details adds to the romantic appeal of this captivating portrait. Cracquluer is seen in the canvas, nicks, scratches and minor loss to frame (especially around outside edge and lower right corner) is typical age related wear and does not detract from the aesthetic appeal of this original oil painting.
