Early 19th Century Antique Swedish Secretary Bureau Painted Blue

The graceful lines of this oak secretary or "bureau" reveal its Swedish country heritage. The addition of a professionally applied blue painted finish compliments its Swedish styling as well. The romantic curve of the upper bonnet adds a dramatic crown to this tall case piece.  The interior is painted in a complimentary contrasting black finish. The petite 8 interior drawers and central cubbie are a traditional element to Scandinavian secretaries. The desk top drops down and rests firmly on 2 strong arms, so this secretary provides able space to use as a functioning desk as well. The heavy brass side handles allow one to move and install the upper and lower sections more easily. It has been restored and is strong, stable, and ready to be used and enjoyed. Any nicks, scratches, crack/separation of wood or signs of wear are commensurate with age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this graceful secretary.
