Early 19th Century Antique Set of 8 Rococo Dining Chairs Inlaid With Cherubs and Peacocks

Every curve and carved element in this striking set of eight chairs is reflective of their Rococo styling. It is the intricate marquetry inlay that captures ones attention with peacocks, cherubs, flowers and vines entwining the backs. Please examine the close up photos to appreciate the fine craftsmanship (note 4 cherubs face left, 4 face right). See details in the legs alone; cabriolet curves and the lovely accent carving. The beautiful lines of the curved back are complimented by the legs and lower stretchers. Their age is reflected in the warm patina of the wood. Each orginal leather seats is in tact yet reflects years of use with scuffs, minor stains and indentations which add to the authentic vintage character; they will benefit from leather conditioner and sit firmly. This set of chairs has been professionally restored so the wood frame is strong/stable. Any nicks, small missing inlay, scratches or minor separation of wood is age-related and does not impact the function nor beauty of this striking set of inlaid oak dining chairs. You are welcome to contact us directly if you would like to learn more about this or other items, we will be happy to assist you further.
