Original Hand Painted Two Door Armoire, Hungary circa 1820

This exceptional armoire still maintains its exquisite original hand-painted details and traditional faux wood background. The earth tones and floral patterns were a typical style element while the geometric border adds a fascinating layer to this stunning armoire. Even the interior was painted with an original mottled antique white finish. 
This armoire or shrunk was designed to "break down" and was built in two sections (refer to photos of interior). Scalloped skirt, raised on bun feet.
The original door lock functions with key (1 included).
This painted two-door armoire has been restored and waxed so it is strong, stable and ready to use. 
Age related wear includes dings, old repairs, multiple cracks, nicks in wood, scratches, age related separation to edges/planks, distress etc. while seen throughout the armoire do not detract from the beauty nor function of this wonderful folk-art find.
