Original Blue Painted Pine Armoire, dated 1835

This delightful painted pine armoire still maintains the quality and details of the original hand-painted finish with background tones of soft blue and teal.
Note in the crown/bonnet the date of 1835 with names underneath.
Notice the 4 panels of flowers in vases on the front doors are accented by additional flowers along the canted sides.
The interior is divided with hanging pegs on the right and 4 shelves (the shortest at the curved top).
The left door is held in place with the original interior iron latch; the right door secures with a metal snap that was recently added. There is no knob on the doors.
This painted two-door armoire has been restored and waxed so it is strong, stable and ready to use.
Age related wear includes dings, old repairs, cracks, small holes (see interior right side), nicks in wood, scratches, age related separation to edges/planks, distress etc. while seen throughout the armoire do not detract from the beauty nor function of this wonderful folk-art find.
Please refer to professional photos for clear understanding of color, condition and details; photo lighting, individual monitor display and home lighting may all impact how item is viewed.
