This vintage green painted globe shaped garden ornament, called an armillary, is made up of metal bands, pierced by an arrow and supported by a mounting bracket. These "sun clocks" are still seen in the gardens of rural Denmark today. The majority of this sun clock has remnants of green paint in a verdigris patina with sign of rust typical of an outdoor garden item. The inside of the bands have a copper patina along with the numbers 1-12 (to "tell time"). Please take a moment to enlarge the photos and examine the details up close.
